Invis was my project for an asset creation course I took in the second year of my game design major.

The first assignment was to create some concept art for a character using AI. My idea for the character was a sort of resistance fighter in a corporatocratic dystopian future. Facial recognition is extremely powerful, so the character has his face covered. His mask doubles as a gas mask, to deal with the terrible air quality caused by pollution.

Next we had to model and sculpt the character model in Blender, then clean up the topology for animation and UV unwrapping. Finally we used substance painter to create the textures for the character, then rigged it using Mixamo.

Once we had the rigged character, our next assignment was to get it working as a player character in Unreal Engine and design a level to use it in. My concept for the level was a data centre out in the desert, where information about members of the resistance group was being held. As a game the idea would have been that you had to stealthily enter the facility, avoiding cameras and drones, and destroy the data. For the scope of the project we really only needed to get the character walking around and have some basic interaction.
